Rica Facundo

Rica is a ‘polymath explorer’ passionate about championing stories about Asia. She is both a marketing practitioner and journalist, bringing a multidisciplinary background in content, cultural & brand strategy, and human-centred design research and ethnography. She believes that stories, data and culture are at the heart of great innovation.

Rica’s expertise is in uncovering and framing human-centered and culturally relevant opportunities for brands and businesses, with more than a decade of experience working in
agencies and publications. She also speaks and consults with major trendwatching publications and trade bodies.

Prior to WARC, Rica was part of a strategic design consultancy creating innovative solutions at the forefront of web3 and healthcare. She is part of the inaugural batch of Spikes See It Be It program for Female Creative Leaders in 2019 and was nominated for Campaign Asia’s Young Achiever of the Year in 2016.

Jason Nockels
GM Digital Revenue Products |NZME

 

Jason Nockels is the GM of Digital Revenue Products & Lifestyle at NZME and comes from a background in digital marketing, eCommerce, and digital product development. He has extensive experience in the tourism sector, having run the grabaseat digital marketing and product development at Air New Zealand, co-founded THL’s peer-to-peer motorhome rental platform, Mighway, and served as GM of Cruise Division at Online Republic pre-Covid. Most recently, he was the Strategy Director at OMD, working on one of New Zealand’s largest retailers. Jason has a proven track record of driving digital growth in eCommerce.

Wendy Thompson

Wendy Thompson is a global marketer and entrepreneur. After many years as an agency ‘suit’, Wendy founded Socialites, a specialist social media agency in 2010 and grew it to be the largest specialist agency in Aotearoa, creating the social media strategies and managing social media platforms and advertising for iconic local and global brands such as Microsoft, Foodstuffs, Westpac and Auckland Airport. Wendy with her business partner, Melanie Spencer, have expanded their service offerings with the acquisition of The Social Club (influencer marketing), Flying Tiger (Chinese marketing) and Magnesium (video production and accredited media agency). Wendy is a keen sailor and is learning wing foiling. 

 

Louis Niven
Client Partner | TikTok

 

Louis Niven is a Client Partner for TikTok New Zealand, working with both brands and agencies to identify opportunities, build relationships and help clients drive business results on TikTok.  He has a strong track record of driving impactful results, with over 20 years of business and media experience working across multiple brands at some of New Zealand's leading media companies. Outside of working hours he likes to spend time exploring the great outdoors and being a promoter of the Nelson Region.

 

Richard Conway
CEO, Pure SEO

 

Richard Conway is an entrepreneur, mentor, investor and advisor for a range of digital businesses. Having founded Pure SEO in 2009, as an ethical SEO specialist search agency tailored toward SMEs, it is now one of the most recognised independent search and digital  marketing agencies in New Zealand.

Pure SEO started with $200 and 13 years later has since been named in Deloitte’s Asia Pacific fastest growing 500 technology companies for seven consecutive years and Deloitte’s Fast 50 2014 and 2015.  More recently, Pure SEO was named a 2022 Premier Google Partner, a status awarded to the top performing 3% of agencies in each country. Scott Best is the Head of Brand and Marketing at Hallenstein Brothers, a leading New Zealand fashion retailer. He has over 17 years of experience in the retail industry, and has held senior roles at some of the country's most successful brands.

Scott is a passionate advocate for the power of creativity and innovation in retail, and is always looking for new ways to engage and delight customers. He is also a strong believer in the importance of digital transformation, and has helped Hallenstein Brothers to become a leader in the online space.
