IAB New Zealand - the industry body for Aotearoa’s digital advertising sector - is hosting its first Mix & Mentor session for AUT and UoA students. We know it can be tricky to figure out what happens in an industry until you actually get to talk to the people in it, and that’s what this session is all about. It'll give you a chance to ask any questions, and meet the experts.
What you can expect in this two-hour session:
🎤 Ask anything in an open Q&A with industry experts (you can use a mic or Slido and anonymous questions are welcome).
📊 Learn how the industry works, from creative and media to data, tech, and strategy.
🤝 Meet the people shaping the Aotearoa digital advertising industry. Connect with professionals, IAB NZ Council leaders, and member organisations in a relaxed networking session. (Light refreshments included!)
Mentorship Opportunity:
A limited number of 6-month mentorships with digital advertising professionals will be offered after the event. Spots are limited and not guaranteed, so let us know when you register if you’d like to be considered. You’ll also be able to choose your areas of interest when you register. Qassem (aka Q) is a data enthusiast with a background in advertising and science. Having begun his career in medical laboratories researching targeted cancer treatments before venturing into targeting consumers. Q has worked with leading brands in Seattle and in 2016 joined FCB. Later he founded Team Circle, APAC's largest customer technology and AI consultancy focused on making technology easy.
Co-founder, Youdooh | Chair IAB NZ Programmatic DOOH Working Group
Youdooh is a new digital self-serve DOOH platform, 100% built in NZ receiving widespread acclaim for making DOOH more accessible. Prior to co-founding Youdooh Richard led media, data, product and technology development for Dentsu across NZ and Australia. He has held executive positions in the UK and Switzerland, and has a deep understanding of digital advertising and technology.

John is a media and marketing expert with over 12 years of experience in the U.S. and NZ. He has worked across media agencies, retail, e-commerce and music software brands. As Industry Manager at Google, John partners with NZ's largest domestic retail brands to drive business growth through media, technology, data and insights.
