TVNZ+ Welcomes Frank Podcasts

From a garage hobby to primetime streaming, Kiwi podcasting has officially come of age. If you've ever wished you could kick back on the couch and watch your favourite podcast like it was a proper TV show, today's your day. TVNZ has partnered with Frank to bring a slate of premium homegrown podcasts to TVNZ+, available to stream now.

A milestone for Kiwi podcasting

This isn't just a content deal, it's a signal that podcasting has earned its place alongside traditional media in Aotearoa. TVNZ's Chief News & Content Officer Nadia Tolich says the partnership is about more than adding shows to a platform. "It's about empowering Kiwi talent and opening new distribution opportunities for the country's best podcast creators." Frank founder Mike Minogue agrees. "This collaboration is a huge leap forward for podcasting in Aotearoa," he says, pointing to the opportunity it creates for both podcasters and audiences alike.

At the front of the pack is Between Two Beers, New Zealand's most popular long-form interview podcast. What started six years ago as a hobby in Steve's garage has grown into a multi-award-winning show with over six million downloads and a monthly audience of more than 180,000 listeners. New episodes drop on TVNZ+ every Sunday from 19 April at 7pm.
