Programmatic DOOH Buyer's Guide 2025

Written by IAB NZ Programmatic DOOH Working Group | Apr 9, 2025 2:02:45 AM

IAB New Zealand first launched the Programmatic DOOH Buyer’s Guide in 2023, at a time when agencies and clients were looking for more information and practical advice on how to invest in a new way of buying DOOH. With significant advancements in buy- and sell-side technology, rapid adoption, and strong revenue growth since then, it is time for a refresh.

The 2025 Buyer's Guide remains a comprehensive reference guide for advertisers and agencies new to programmatic DOOH, as well as a resource for more experienced buyers to keep up to date with the latest developments.

The 2025 Buyer’s Guide covers:

☑️ Key buying considerations, creative approaches and targeting opportunities.
☑️ Current audience measurement methodologies used by media partners.
☑️ A full breakdown of digital screen portfolios and coverage.
☑️ Reflections on how programmatic DOOH will evolve in 2025 and beyond.

We would like to thank the IAB New Zealand Programmatic DOOH council who created the original 2023 edition, led at the time by:

Richard Pook, Chair and Co-Founder Youdooh

Simon Teagle, General Manager GO Media

Jack Plowright GM of Partner and Platform Strategy, LUMO

The 2025 version was updated by:

Sandra Scott Vice Chair, and Sales and Partnerships Director, Vistar Media

Ash Houghton Sales Director, Perion

Josh Turney Programmatic Channel Lead, oOh!media NZ

The IAB New Zealand would also like to acknowledge all the media vendors and technology platforms that contributed to this new edition. It is certain that the DOOH marketplace will continue to evolve rapidly, particularly how audiences are planned; bought and how outcomes are measured. It is shaping up to be a pivotal year for the New Zealand OOH industry and we are excited to see what’s next.
