Allied Media has launched a completely rebuilt digital platform for ODT.co.nz, marking the biggest overhaul of its online presence in more than a decade.

The new ODT.co.nz runs on upgraded newsroom and advertising technology, giving journalists the ability to publish directly from the field and readers a faster, cleaner experience with improved navigation reflecting Allied Media’s South Island coverage.

Alongside the website, Allied Media has launched a new e-edition platform at newspapers.odt.co.nz, giving readers digital replicas of the Otago Daily Times, 03 magazine, and 23 community newspapers from across the South Island, along with updated ODT+ apps for iOS and Android.

The relaunch also introduces a new subscription system, simplifying how readers log in, manage their accounts, and move between the website and e-editions.

Regional journalism plays an incredibly important role. It holds people to account, tells the stories of our communities, and helps people make informed decisions in their own lives. With 24 newspapers across the South Island and an editorial team of 90, from Blenheim to Bluff, nobody covers the South like we do. The new, improved ODT.co.nz reflects our commitment to investing in that journalism - Grant McKenzie, CEO of Allied Media.
Editor-in-chief Paul McIntyre said the new website was a significant investment in the future of trusted South Island journalism. "We're proud of the journalism we produce everyday, and this investment ensures we have the tools to deliver it in the way our readers expect, now and into the future."

The new platform is now live at ODT.co.nz.
