Each month the IAB profiles a Council Member working hard to proactively define the future of digital advertising. This month we profile Emily Kooperberg, Online Sales Manager at TVNZ and a member of the Standards & Guidelines Council.

I joined the Council: To play an active role in and contribute what I can to the industry.
Recent key projects the Council has accomplished: IABNZ Specs Guidelines doc.
Upcoming projects the Council is currently working on: Addressing the on-going discussion around viewability and what it means for publishers, agencies and advertisers.
How many years have you worked in digital? I started my digital career as a Comms Trader at Ikon Communications but became exclusive to digital during my time at MediaCom as a digi planner, so all up about 4 years or so including my time at TVNZ.
What excites me about digital? The digital world is constantly evolving… particularly in the past 10 years there have been significant developments in hardware alone which changes not only how people are consuming content but how and when marketers choose to connect with consumers, making placements more relevant for both advertiser and user. Exciting!
What's on your recommend reading list? (Blogs/books) Big fan of hearing/reading what Mark Ritson and Bob Hoffman have to say.
What is one piece of advice you would give to your younger self, embarking on a career in digital? Make sure you always understand why you are doing what you are doing. Use your initiative and challenge the norm!
If I wasn’t working in digital… It means I’ve obviously won Lotto so I’d be on a Tropical Island with a Mojito in hand!
