Written by IAB New Zealand | Mar 18, 2026 1:07:52 AM

The University of Auckland Business School has just launched a new programme called 'Projects for Business and Society'  to connect its postgraduate students with organisations. Students can conduct in-depth research and analysis, delivering insights and recommendations on the strategic challenges or opportunities facing your organisation, completely free of charge.

Why take part?

Creating connection between the media and marketing industry and tertiary institutions is an important way to support industry growth, and foster a future proof talent pipeline. This programme provides businesses with access to some of the brightest young minds in Aotearoa.

What you'll access:

  • Free research, analysis and strategic recommendations

  • Fresh perspectives backed by academic rigour

  • Evidence-based solutions grounded in contemporary research

  • Connect with high-calibre students for future recruitment - it's a great opportunity to identify your next hire

What type of project work is it?

Post-graduate students can work across a wide range of projects; some key areas of interest for IAB New Zealand Members could include:

The most successful projects are strategic rather than operational, think research, analysis, and recommendations rather than execution. Projects should be specific and focused, offer genuine strategic value to your organisation. The clearer the challenge or question, the stronger the outcome.

How long does it take?

8-10 weeks

How do I sign up?

  1. Decide which type of project most interests your organisation

  2. Click through for more detail and then click on the 'Express Interest' flag

  3. Fill out the form, and a representative from UoA will be in touch.

When does it happen?

Expressions of interest are currently being accepted for Quarter Two (from mid-April), and beyond. Spots are limited, so early expressions of interest are encouraged.

Check out the UoA Projects for Business and Society information page for more details.
