US: H1 Online Ad Spend Report (Jan-July)

Internet advertising revenues (“revenues”) in the United States totaled $14.9 billion for the first six months of 2011, with Q1 2011 accounting for approximately $7.3 billion and Q2 2011 totaling approximately $7.7 billion. Internet advertising revenues for the first six months of 2011 increased 23% over 2010.

IABNZ members can download the latest Online Ad Spend Report from the UK. Please note they only publish bi-annually (H1 & H4, 2011).

The IAB Online Adspend Study, conducted in partnership with PricewaterhouseCoopers, retains double-digit growth in online across the first six months of 2011. The market was worth £2,256.17m, up 13.5%, on a like for like basis, on the previous year. Online’s market share was 27% up from 25% in H1 2010.

The Australian online advertising market is on track to surpass $3b in 2012, with the online advertising expenditure for the 2011 financial year growing 20 percent year-on-year to reach $2.455b. The data, which was released today by IAB Australia in its Online Advertising Expenditure Report (OAER) compiled by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), also showed online expenditure for the second quarter of 2011 totalled $655 million – an increase of 19 percent year on year. Total online advertising expenditure in Australia for the first-quarter 2011 (3 months ended 31 March 2011) totalled $601.0 million, a decrease of 4% (or $26.75 million) on the quarter ended 31 December 2010.
