Ranking of the ten channels in Nielsen Market Intelligence NZ domestic traffic showing the sites that attract the highest percentage of people aged under 25 for the month of June 2010*.
The rankings do not show which websites have the actual highest traffic numbers (ie total number of unique browsers) of this demographic, but instead show which websites have the highest percentage of their traffic consisting of people who are aged under 25, for the month of June. For example, sjs.co.nz is the number one ranking because 58.1 percent of its unique browsers meet the demographic requirement, but their total number of matched unique browsers equals 33,058. theedge.co.nz on the other hand, in third place, has 47.4 percent of its unique browsers that meet the demographic requirement but their total number of matched unique browsers equals 56,977.
To put these numbers into perspective, the proportion of New Zealand internet users that are aged under 25 is currently 15.1 percent according to Nielsen market Intelligence. As can be seen from the ranking, people aged under 25 have a strong propensity to visit radio and magazine/lifestyle type websites, as well as looking for jobs.
