Buffering
Buffering - When a streaming media player saves portions of file until there is enough information for the file to begin playing. Because internet download speeds are often slower than the speed at which video files are played, media players "buffer" parts of the file, so that it can be played without stopping to wait for the next part of the file to be downloaded. In practice, since download speeds vary widely, it is not uncommon for players to run out of "buffered" information while playing - at which point playback stops until the download catches up again.
