Rumours of the partnership follow news that Yahoo has agreed to serve Google ads on its search pages.

The deal with AOL includes repurchasing Yahoo shares at a higher price than Microsoft’s offer. Time Warner would fold AOL into Yahoo and exchange cash for 20% ownership of the combined units.

Meanwhile, The Wall Street Journal reports Microsoft is in talks with News Corp over a joint bid for Yahoo.
