Publicis buys Microsoft’s Razorfish for US$530m

Publicis Groupe SA has reached a deal with Microsoft to purchase their digital agency Razorfish, more than two years after the software giant acquired the digital agency. The deal is reportedly worth $530 million in cash and 6.5 million Publicis Groupe treasury shares.

Publicis will also receive favorable advertising deals across Microsoft’s ad and search networks for the next five years. For its part, Razorfish, a member of Publicis’ Groupe entity VivaKi, agrees to be a preferred provider to Microsoft in terms of digital strategy, creative and marketing services.
