Netflix shares leap amid rumours of acquisition by Amazon

The online DVD rental company's shares rose by more than 5% last Wednesday amid speculation that it is about to be bought by Amazon. It's not the first time the Amazon takeover of Netflix has been the subject of rumours, and some analysts question why Amazon would want Netflix.
The company's shares have fallen nearly 18% in the last year as more big players enter the DVD rental market.
