Media buying agency Carat forecasts UK ad spend will drop 7%

Carat, the media buying agency network owned by Aegis, has drastically revised its global advertising spend forecasts for this year downwards, with the UK market predicted to dip by more than 7%.

The network's prediction for worldwide ad spend for 2009 is a year-on-year decline of 5.8%, a massive revision down from the 4.8% growth Carat forecast in August last year. Carat said it expects negative growth in almost every major advertising market except China.
