Healthy option added to MSN Lifestyle
Auckland, 8 February 2010 – When 60 percent of Kiwis aspire to lose weight* and two thirds prefer healthy snacks* the appetite for information guiding healthier decisions is huge.
Putting health conscious Kiwis in the picture, online media company MSN has launched new lifestyle category Health Hub http://health.msn.co.nz/, providing instant online access to a comprehensive guide for healthy living.
Covering the spectrum of health and lifestyle issues, including self-help advice and tools, Health Hub is expected to vitalise visitor traffic to MSN Lifestyle, already one of MSN’s most popular categories, regularly attracting 220,000 unique browsers monthly.
MSN business manager Liz Fraser says Kiwis’ keen interest in health is a big opportunity for online publishers, when online is increasingly the first place people look for answers. She says consumer interest also presents significant opportunities to advertisers, who have the opportunity to engage viewers through a variety of interactive formats, including sponsored quizzes, section sponsorship, competitions, video TVCs and advertorials.
“We’ve gone broad and deep and approached the topic from many angles, including news stories, expert advice, tools, and galleries. It’s a significant resource,” Fraser says.
MSN Health Hub includes latest health news, tools and expert advice, features and galleries on topics ranging from healthy eating, fitness and pregnancy through to sex, relationships, family health and the latest cosmetic procedures.
Fraser says health minded consumers are experiential, with close to two-in-three (62%)* professing to trying new types of food when they see them, and active, with 71 percent* regularly participating in sports and leisure activities. “With the right pitch advertisers should make a big impression,” she says.
