Google search growth outpaces US average

Nielsen Online released its U.S. search engine rankings for last month that showed that Google still commands a gargantuan lead over its competitors, according to CNET.

Data showed that 9.4 billion queries were submitted to search engines during January, marking 28.5 percent growth from the prior year. Google was the only search engine to outgrow the market over the previous year. The 10-year-old company captured a 62.8 percent share of search in January and saw a growth rate of 40.8 percent.
