Google bids US$4.6b for US open wireless spectrum

Google is bidding US$4.6 billion for open wireless spectrum and has requested that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) "require the adoption of four types of "open" platforms as part of the auction". The four demands are Open applications, open devices, open services and open networks
