Facebook opens its pages to search engines

From next month, Facebook will give users a choice over whether they want to keep their name and profile pictures private, or allow Facebook to make them available to search.

Up until now, Facebook has denied access to search services, but it will notify users over the next 30 days of its plans, then open the site up to Google, Yahoo and others to index public member profiles.
